Connect PNG - A Road to Hope and Progress in Papua New Guinea.

Reported by Mr. Joshua Honnes

In a significant development for Papua New Guinea (PNG), the long-awaited road connection between Kerema and Menyamya is not just a promise, but a reality that promises to transform lives and communities.

This groundbreaking initiative is set to bridge the gap between rural and urban areas, unlocking access to vital services and opportunities previously out of reach for many. No longer will the journey to essential services be measured in days of arduous trekking, but in the mere distance of a well-traveled road.

The road connectivity is poised to put an end to the isolation of Kerema and pave the way for enhanced access to Menyamya. Crucially, this endeavor transcends political divides, as it is recognized as a fundamental need for the people, untainted by political agendas.

Venturing into the heart of rural PNG, Mr. Joshua Honnes witnessed firsthand the dire need for improved infrastructure.

In places like Telefomin in West Sepik and Kotidanga in Gulf Province, the absence of roads has left communities stranded, with residents enduring grueling journeys lasting days simply to access basic services.

The Trans Highlands Highway, spanning 180 kilometers and linking Morobe and Gulf provinces, symbolizes both the challenges and the promise of road connectivity in PNG. Yet, despite the obstacles, progress marches forward.

Amidst this groundbreaking development, Mr. Honnes's journey and story captures the essence of the transformation underway.

With unwavering determination, he undertook the arduous trek from Kerema to Menyamya, traversing 180 kilometers over five days. His remarkable journey serves as a testament to the resilience and hope of the PNG people in the face of adversity.

As the road to Kerema and Menyamya nears completion, it heralds a new era of hope, progress, and unity for Papua New Guinea. Together, let us celebrate this milestone and embrace the boundless possibilities that lie ahead on the road to a brighter future.
